Submission Guidelines

COVID-19 Update to submission - for 2020, submissions are limited to current members of the WNCFG.

The following submission guidelines will help insure proper handling of your entry.

  • Entries must be made by the Entrants, independently created and not the result of a class or workshop  
  • Entries must be original in concept and design except where traditional drafts are used and noted.
  • If an entry is a joint effort, all contributors must be named; enter details on the registration (i.e. spinner, dyer, seamstress, etc.)  However, the submission should be by a single individual with recognition of a collaborator noted in the registration form.
  • Appropriate installation hardware and full instructions MUST be included.  Please note we must use the wall mounted hanging system currently in place at the North Carolina Arboretum. (there is no wall drilling / mounting).
  • Entries will remain on display throughout the exhibit unless sold. (NOTE: Artist may choose whether or not to sell their work)
  • Pieces greater than 60" in any direction may not be accepted due to space considerations. NOTE: This guideline only applies to large, heavy pieces that cannot be hung from the wire system successfully.  It does not apply to items in any category that can easily be displayed or hung without undue weight.
  • Entrant is responsible for the hand delivery and pick up.
  • An entrant will be notified if an entry is unsuitable. The entrant is responsible for retrieving their item if already delivered. The jury committee is committed to reviewing all items and advising the entrant as to the status of their submission before delivery deadline. 
  • Items may not be entered after the call is closed.  
  • Total number of entries will be limited based on our available display space and size of various entries.  
  • The Blue Ridge Fiber Show committee reserves the right of final interpretation of these rules.

July 25, 2020 Deadline for entry.
August 12, 2020 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. All entries delivered to the NC Arboretum Education Center
August 15, 2020 Exhibit opens
November 1, 2020 Exhibit ends
November 4, 2020 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. All entries picked up at the NC Arboretum Education Center
