Plum Pretty Poncho

Plum Pretty Poncho, Fiber Art
Plum Pretty Poncho
A pattern for an infinity scarf was this inspiration for this poncho. I had made ponchos like this before using garter stitch but wanted to try using more surface design for this project. The poncho is made with two rectangles hand sewn together, short ends to long ends.

Bio
Andrea began weaving in 1998. In addition to weaving, a lifelong love of needlework and fabric has found expression in embroidery, crochet, knit, and sewing. A member of her church’s artist guild, she has organized art shows and participated in the creation of liturgical art. She has also spent 30 years in community theatre which has led to the creation of innumerable costumes as well as acting, directing, teaching, set building, and prop creation.

Originally from the Mid-West, Andrea and her husband, Rick, have lived in North Carolina since 1981, mainly in Pitt County, where she served as member and president of the Pitt County Arts Council, Smiles and Frowns Playhouse, and Magnolia Arts Center. Having moved to Haywood County recently, they now reside in Fines Creek.
